XI Polar Expedition

The XI Polar Expedition of our research group to the Adam Mickiewicz University Polar Station “Petuniabukta” took place in August 2025, in central Spitsbergen. Two members of the group, Prof. dr hab. Przemysław Niedzielski and Dr. Juliana Souza-Kasprzyk, collected over 100 soil and glacial sediment samples, including scientific samples from the vicinity of the Nordenskiöld Glacier and the old mining town Pyramiden, regions of great importance for studying deglaciation processes and anthropogenic influences on elemental biogeochemistry in the Arctic environment.
