Arctic expedition 2023
We are excited to share that our research group has embarked on a remarkable scientific expedition. Once again, three members of our team are currently at the Adam Mickiewicz University Polar Station “Petuniabukta” (AMUPS) in Svalbard, collecting invaluable samples for their ongoing research projects.
On June 25th, our team departed from Poland and arrived in Longyearbyen on the 26th. Shortly after their arrival, they took a ship to the station, ensuring they were equipped with the necessary weapon for protection against Polar Bears. Over the next 10 days, their primary focus will be on collecting various samples, with a particular emphasis on soils in the surrounding area.
This ongoing expedition at AMUPS marks a significant milestone in our research endeavors. We are dedicated to expanding our knowledge of the Arctic region and contributing to global efforts aimed at preserving and understanding its unique ecosystems.
Thank you for your interest in our research. We invite you to explore our website or visit the Research in Svalbard (RiS) Portal for more information and future updates.
