Fieldwork for archaeology students
In June 2024, students of archaeometry (a joint master degree study program of Faculty of Chemistry and the Faculty of Archaeology of Adam Mickiewicz University) took part in field classes as part of the subject “In-situ studies of objects and sites”. The classes were conducted by Dr. Jędrzej Proch and Prof. Przemysław Niedzielski with the support of Dr. Andrzej Kowalczyk from the Museum of the First Piasts in Lednica. As part of the classes, analyses of mortars from the church and palatium in Ostrów Lednicki were performed using non-invasive analytical techniques: X-ray fluorescence and color measurements. The research was approved by the Wielkopolska Provincial Conservator of Monuments in permit no. 495/2024/A.
